Terms of Service

Last Updated: April 1, 2025

InteLegal Consultants has been helping businesses navigate Indian regulatory compliance since 2004. Before we start working together, we want to be completely upfront about how our engagement works. These terms apply to anyone using our website at intelegalconsultants.in or engaging our services directly.

Reading through legal terms is not anyone's idea of a good time, so we have written this as plainly as we can. If anything is unclear, please call us on +91 91960 10784 before we begin — we would rather sort out questions upfront.

1. What InteLegal Does — and Does Not Do

We are a private compliance consultancy, not a government body. What this means practically is that we prepare your application, verify your documents, register on the relevant government portal (CPCB for EPR, BIS portal for BIS certification, WPC/DoT portal for wireless approvals, Legal Metrology for LMPC), and follow up with the authority on your behalf until the certificate is issued.

The certificate itself is always issued by the government authority — CPCB, Bureau of Indian Standards, Department of Telecommunications, or the Legal Metrology department. We are the experts who get you there; they are the ones who issue the document.

2. Your Responsibility: Give Us Accurate Documents

Government applications live or die on the quality of supporting documents. You are responsible for making sure everything you give us — company registration, GST, PAN, product details, test reports, import records, authorisation letters — is genuine and accurate.

If a government department rejects or delays an application because of incorrect or fraudulent documents submitted by you, that is not something we can be held liable for. We check and verify everything we can on our end, but we cannot verify things we have no way of knowing — for instance, whether a test report from a lab is authentic.

3. Fees and Refunds

We will give you a written quote before we start anything. The total fee generally covers our professional charges plus the applicable government filing fees. Both are laid out separately in your invoice so there are no surprises.

On refunds: once we have begun preparing your application — drafting documents, registering on the portal, corresponding with the authority — our professional fees are non-refundable. This is because the work has already been done. Government fees paid on your behalf to CPCB, BIS, DoT, or any other body are never refundable regardless of the outcome, as those fees are set by the government and go directly to them.

If you change your mind before we have started any work — i.e., you have paid but we have not yet begun — contact us immediately and we will evaluate a refund on a case-by-case basis. We are not unreasonable people and we will look at each situation fairly.

4. Timelines

We publish estimated timelines on our service pages — for example, LMPC in 15–30 days, Plastic Waste EPR in 30–45 days, BIS ISI Mark in 60–90 days. These are our best estimates based on current government processing speeds, which change without notice. We have no control over how quickly a government portal processes applications or whether an inspector is assigned in time. We chase these aggressively on your behalf, but we cannot guarantee a specific calendar date.

5. Website Content

The information on intelegalconsultants.in is meant to help you understand compliance requirements in India. Regulations change — sometimes significantly and with short notice. While we update our content regularly, do not make business decisions based solely on what you read here without speaking to our team first. We are available six days a week to answer specific questions.

Everything on this website — text, images, diagrams, branding — belongs to InteLegal Consultants. Please do not reproduce or republish our content without written permission.

6. Limitation of Liability

We work hard for our clients and we stand behind our work. However, compliance approvals are ultimately decisions made by government authorities. InteLegal Consultants cannot be held liable for losses arising from government delays, policy changes, or application rejections where the cause is outside our control.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from our engagement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi, Delhi.

8. Contact Us

If you have a concern about our services or anything on this website, the fastest way to resolve it is to call us directly. We pick up.
